About the Challenge

Build with Gemini Hackathon is an individual innovation challenge focused on empowering students to build real-world applications using Google’s Gemini AI. This hackathon provides participants with hands-on experience in Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and modern AI development tools.

Participants will independently design and develop AI-powered solutions that solve meaningful problems across domains such as productivity, education, sustainability, accessibility, healthcare, and automation. The goal is to encourage innovation, practical learning, and exploration of Gemini’s capabilities in building intelligent applications.

This hackathon is open to all skill levels. Whether you are a beginner learning AI or an experienced developer, this is an opportunity to experiment, learn, and showcase your creativity by building impactful solutions powered by Gemini.

Get Started

Follow these steps to begin your hackathon journey:

 

  1. Register for the Hackathon
    Sign up and confirm your participation through the official registration platform.

  2. Set Up Your Development Environment
    Get access to Google Gemini APIs, tools, and required development frameworks.

  3. Learn About Gemini
    Explore Gemini’s capabilities such as text generation, chat, summarization, reasoning, and multimodal features.

  4. Build Your Project
    Develop an original AI-powered application using Gemini during the hackathon period.

  5. Submit Your Project
    Submit your project on Devpost with a project description, demo, and source code.

  6. Present Your Solution
    Demonstrate your project and explain your idea, implementation, and impact

Requirements

What to Build

Build an original AI-powered application using Google’s Gemini AI. Your project should demonstrate how Gemini can be used to solve a real-world problem or improve an existing process.

You may build projects in any domain, including but not limited to:

  • Productivity tools (AI assistants, automation tools, smart workflows)

  • Education (AI tutors, learning assistants, study tools)

  • Sustainability (waste management, climate awareness, optimization tools)

  • Accessibility (assistive tools for differently-abled users)

  • Healthcare (information assistants, health tracking, awareness tools)

  • Developer tools (code assistants, documentation helpers, debugging tools)

  • Any innovative idea powered by Gemini

Your project must be built individually during the hackathon and should clearly use Gemini AI in its core functionality.

What to Submit

Each participant must submit the following on Devpost:

  • Project Title and Description
    Clearly explain your project, the problem it solves, and how Gemini is used.

  • Demo Video (Required)
    A short video (2–5 minutes) demonstrating your project and its features.

  • Source Code (Required)
    A link to your GitHub repository or source code.

  • Screenshots (Optional but Recommended)
    Images showing your project interface and functionality.

  • Live Demo Link (Optional)
    A deployed version of your project, if available.
